Pharmacy Technician | Long Beach, California

An immediate opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with travel flexibility in the greater Los Angeles area. This role involves supporting two hospital settings, providing critical pharmacy services across multiple locations within a 20-mile radius.

Location: Floating position between two hospitals in Long Beach, CA area (Gardena and Norwalk).

Job Type: Contract, extending 8 weeks or longer.

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable day and afternoon shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compound IV medications, IV piggybacks (IVPBs), and total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
• Accurately fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Deliver medications to nursing units promptly and professionally.
• Respond to telephone inquiries regarding medication orders and availability.
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon for order entry and pharmacy record management.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is mandatory.
• Proficient in preparing IV admixtures and managing Pyxis systems.
• Familiarity with Allscripts or Paragon pharmacy and order entry systems.
• Ability to work efficiently between two hospital sites, maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy.
