Pharmacy Technician | Long Beach, California

This Contract Pharmacy Technician role offers an opportunity to utilize your inpatient pharmacy skills in a dynamic hospital setting located in Gardena, CA. With a licensed bed capacity of 173 and an average daily census of 140, you’ll contribute to efficient medication dispensing and support quality patient care during variable day and afternoon shifts over an approximately 8-week assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately and efficiently
• Make intravenous medications (IVs), including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries and deliver medications to nursing units
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems to process medication orders
• Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing staff to maintain effective communication and patient safety

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required
• Demonstrated proficiency in preparing IV medications and filling Pyxis systems
• Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets and hospital pharmacy workflows
• Experience with Allscripts and Paragon order entry software preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
