A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join their team on a 13-week contract with the potential to convert to full-time. This role focuses on supporting a complex patient population, offering a unique opportunity to work in a high-impact environment.

Location: Lorain, OH
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks, contract to hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications for patients with complex chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Provide compassionate and patient-focused communication tailored to Medicare/Medicaid patients with potentially low literacy levels.
  • Manage high-volume prescription processing in a specialty retail pharmacy setting.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a retail or specialty pharmacy technician, preferably working with chronic disease patients.
  • Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 medications commonly dispensed in retail pharmacies.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with patience and empathy when interacting with patients.
  • Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid populations and understanding of unique patient challenges.
  • Ohio pharmacy technician license required.
  • PTCB certification is highly preferred but not mandatory.
