This opportunity is for a full-time, contract-to-hire Pharmacy Technician position located in Van Nuys, CA. Location: Van Nuys, CA
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Rotating Saturdays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (Saturday shifts come with the prior Wednesday off)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Temp-to-Perm)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong clinical support within a retail pharmacy setting, assisting pharmacists with medication reviews and extensive patient interactions, particularly diabetic patients
- Process and accurately fill approximately 250 prescriptions per day
- Handle data entry, prescription processing, insurance adjudication, and manage prior authorizations
- Deliver high-level customer service with bilingual communication (Spanish/English preferred)
- Support clinical workflow including medication synchronization, adherence initiatives, and patient follow-ups
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and internal workflow standards
- Exhibit leadership potential by assisting with workflow coordination as the role develops
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and clear California Pharmacy Technician License
- Retail Pharmacy Technician experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
- 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Prior authorization experience preferred
- PTCB certification is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong clinical judgment
- Confident with diabetes management and insulin counseling
- Patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills
