Pharmacy Technician | Los Angeles, California

A pharmacy technician opportunity is available in the Los Angeles area, supporting an inpatient acute care facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. This contract role requires a dedicated professional experienced in hospital pharmacy operations and IV compounding.

Responsibilities:

• Perform IV compounding with strict adherence to safety and quality standards
• Accurately fill medication orders in the Pyxis automated dispensing system
• Support medication order entry using the Paragon/Allscripts system
• Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy staff to maintain efficient daily operations
• Work variable shifts typically between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including some weekend coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Maintain professional appearance wearing scrubs in accordance with site dress code

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active pharmacy technician license
• Proven experience in inpatient, acute care pharmacy settings
• Proficiency in IV compounding techniques
• Familiarity with Pyxis automation systems and medication filling processes
• Experience with Paragon or Allscripts order entry platforms preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities during shifts

Schedule and Duration:

• 40 hours per week with varying shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM
• Weekend coverage required on a rotating basis
• Contract length of approximately 8 to 13 weeks, with potential for extension
