An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician in the Los Angeles area to support inpatient acute care pharmacy operations. This contract position offers 40 hours per week, with varying shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekend coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The duration of the assignment is expected to last 8 to 13 weeks or longer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound intravenous (IV) medications accurately and safely
  • Fill and maintain automated Pyxis medication dispensing systems
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient pharmacy operations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license
  • Experience in inpatient, acute care settings
  • Proficiency with IV compounding techniques
  • Familiarity with Pyxis automation systems is essential
  • Comfortable working with Paragon or Allscripts order entry systems
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends

Work Environment:

  • Support a pharmacy serving a 117-licensed-bed facility with an average daily census of 44
  • Work within a pharmacy team consisting of 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 full-time technicians
  • Professional dress code requiring scrubs
