Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, CA

An acute care facility in the Los Angeles area seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician for an 8 to 13+ week contract opportunity. This role is ideal for candidates with inpatient experience who are comfortable supporting busy hospital operations and managing complex medication dispensing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compound intravenous (IV) medications accurately and efficiently.
• Fill and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Perform order entry using Paragon/Allscripts systems.
• Work collaboratively with a team of pharmacists and technicians to support patient care.
• Cover varying shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekend hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Adhere to scrub dress code and infection control protocols.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician with licensing to work in acute care settings.
• Proven experience in IV compounding and use of Pyxis automation.
• Familiarity with inpatient pharmacy operations and hospital electronic order entry systems, specifically Paragon or Allscripts.
• Ability to work flexible shifts totaling 40 hours per week.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Additional Details:

• Facility has 117 licensed beds with an average daily census of 44.
• Pharmacy team includes 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 full-time technicians.
