Pharmacy Technician - Los Angeles, California

An opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician to provide support across two hospital locations in the Los Angeles area. This travel assignment offers the chance to apply your expertise in inpatient pharmacy settings while working with automated medication dispensing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compound intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs).
• Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately and efficiently.
• Process medication orders using the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system.
• Deliver medications promptly to nursing units and respond to telephone inquiries related to pharmacy operations.
• Float between two hospital sites approximately 20 miles apart, ensuring seamless pharmacy support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in inpatient hospital environments.
• Proficiency in making IV medications and filling Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets is required.
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon or similar order entry systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with nursing and pharmacy teams.

Schedule:

• Variable day and afternoon shifts, tailored to coverage needs.

Location:

• Position involves floating between two hospitals in the Los Angeles area, located in Gardena and Norwalk.
