A Pharmacy Technician is needed to support two hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area. This valuable role involves floating between two hospital sites located approximately 20 miles apart, providing essential pharmacy services across both facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong background in inpatient pharmacy care and IV preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets efficiently
- Prepare IVs, including IVPBs and TPNs, adhering to safety protocols
- Deliver medications promptly to nursing units throughout each facility
- Respond to telephone inquiries and communicate effectively with healthcare staff
- Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems to accurately process medication orders
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician with a focus on inpatient settings
- Skilled in making IVs and filling Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets (required)
- Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon or similar order entry systems
- Ability to work independently and flexibly float between two hospital sites
- Strong communication and multitasking skills to thrive in a dynamic environment
Location:
- Los Angeles, CA area, covering Gardena Memorial (Gardena) and Coast Plaza Hospital (Norwalk)
Schedule/Hours:
- Variable day and afternoon shifts to meet hospital needs
