Pharmacy Technician - Los Angeles, CA

An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician with inpatient experience to support a healthcare facility near Gardena, CA. This contract position spans approximately 8 weeks, offering a valuable assignment in a busy hospital environment with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients.

Location: Gardena, CA (Travel/Contract)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and fill automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) accurately.
• Compounding intravenous medications including IVs, IV piggybacks (IVPBs), and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs).
• Deliver medications promptly to various nursing units.
• Handle telephone communications professionally to support pharmacy operations.
• Use the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system to process medication orders efficiently.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Pharmacy Technician license.
• Solid inpatient pharmacy experience is required.
• Proven ability to prepare IVs and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets.
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon or similar order entry systems.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work variable day and afternoon shifts.
