Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, CA

This pharmacy technician role is based in the Los Angeles area and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a hospital setting with a 173 licensed bed facility and a daily census averaging 140 patients. This contract position, lasting approximately eight weeks or more, requires hands-on experience in inpatient pharmacy operations, including preparation and delivery of medications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets accurately
• Compound IV medications, IVPBs, and TPNs under sterile conditions
• Answer telephone requests and communicate effectively with nursing staff
• Deliver medications promptly to various nursing units within the hospital
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry systems to process medication orders

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience in a hospital environment
• Demonstrated expertise in making IVs and filling Pyxis systems is REQUIRED
• Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets and sterile compounding procedures
• Ability to work variable day and afternoon shifts collaboratively
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in medication handling
