Position Details

• Setting: LA County Correctional Health
• Schedule: 24/7 operation; must be flexible for day, evening, and overnight shifts
• Shifts: 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, or 10:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Duration: Long-term, open-ended contract
• Start: Approximately 4 weeks after interview/clearance process
• Clearance: Must successfully complete County security clearance, Employee Health onboarding, Livescan, and LACDHS competency testing

Requirements

• Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
• PTCB certification preferred
• At least 2 years of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience
• Strong typing skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of medical billing
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Local Los Angeles candidates preferred
• Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare environment
• Must be able to commit to the full clearance and onboarding process

Important Hiring Process

• Required security paperwork and documents must be submitted several weeks before the interview
• Facility tour provided during the interview process
• Must pass the LACDHS Competency Test — one attempt
• Must complete Employee Health clearance and Livescan fingerprinting
• Full process can take approximately 6–10 weeks, so candidates should be ready to complete each step promptly
