Pharmacy Technician in Medina, OH

An experienced pharmacy technician with a background in retail and specialty pharmacy is needed to support medication management for complex patients. This role is perfect for a skilled professional comfortable working with patients managing multiple chronic conditions and requiring compassionate communication.

Location: Medina, OH
Type: 13-week contract to hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense medications, focusing on patients taking 8-15 medications daily
• Provide patient counseling with patience and compassion, especially for those with low literacy
• Assist patients managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
• Use strong knowledge of the top 200–400 retail drugs to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
• Collaborate with pharmacy and healthcare teams to optimize patient care

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license required
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not required
• Previous experience in retail and specialty pharmacy settings highly preferred
• Exceptional communication skills and patience working with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patient populations
• Ability to handle complex medication regimens and support patients with chronic disease management
