Pharmacy Technician in Medina, OH

An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacy technician to work with a specialty retail pharmacy that focuses on serving complex patients managing multiple medications daily. This role offers a 13-week contract with potential to transition to full-time employment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, and a solid understanding of the top 200-400 medications typically dispensed in retail pharmacy settings. Specialty retail pharmacy experience is highly preferred, especially working with patients experiencing advanced chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Location: Medina, OH
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire, 13-week initial assignment starting ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescriptions for patients with complex medication regimens
• Provide compassionate patient counseling, particularly for individuals with low health literacy and socioeconomic challenges
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
• Maintain accurate records and comply with pharmacy laws and regulations

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license required
• PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
• Experience in specialty retail pharmacy preferred
• Strong knowledge of commonly prescribed medications and managing patients with chronic diseases
• Compassionate and patient-oriented approach, especially with Medicare/Medicaid and low-income populations
