The role focuses on supporting patients with rare and orphan diseases by managing high-cost, complex medications and facilitating communication between patients, providers, and specialty programs.

Job Type: Contract (13 weeks) with potential for contract-to-hire
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, day shifts
Responsibilities:
- Dispense and manage specialty medications for rare diseases, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Facilitate approval processes for medication use, including navigating insurance and specialty program requirements
- Provide high-touch patient and provider communication to support medication adherence and address questions
- Assist with financial support programs including grants, rebates, and payment assistance
- Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system specific to specialty pharmacy operations
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist in Arizona with a clear and active license
- Proven experience working specifically in a designated specialty pharmacy environment (retail or mail order)
- Deep understanding of rare disease drug therapies and specialty pharmacy workflows
- Strong clinical knowledge combined with excellent communication skills to engage with providers and patients
- Experience navigating insurance approvals, payment assistance programs, and grant processes for specialty medications
- Ability to provide references that confirm specialty pharmacy expertise
- Resume must clearly outline specialty pharmacy experience and mention specific disease states managed
