Pharmacy Technician in New Port Richey, FL

This pharmacy technician position offers a 13-week contract opportunity based in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The role starts ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance.

Responsibilities include processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory, handling insurance claims, and assisting with packing and shipping medications. You will be involved in prescription processing, insurance adjudications, resolving claim rejections, and preparing medications for pharmacist verification. Additional duties involve data entry, managing prescription paperwork, and effective communication with patients, prescribers, and internal teams. Maintaining accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration reviews is key, along with supporting returns, medication quarantines, and destruction processes. Cross-training ensures flexibility to support various pharmacy functions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications and desired experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• PTCB certification and an active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; some call center experience preferred
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent communication abilities with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
