A pharmacy technician position is available on a 13-week temporary contract in Clearwater, FL, with a start date as soon as cleared (approximately 1.5-2 weeks post-offer). The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This position requires strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills within a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions efficiently, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring medication expiration dates.
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and the proper destruction of expired or damaged drugs.
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions and provide support to meet department needs.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and insurance policies.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current PTCB certification and valid Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, with preferred background in call center environments.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication abilities when interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
