Pharmacy Technician in New Port Richey, FL

Join a dynamic pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Technician supporting prescription processing and medication management. This 13-week contract role offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, located in Clearwater, FL, with an immediate start or shortly after clearance (approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks post-offer).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions accurately, handling insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist review and verification.
• Perform data entry tasks, manage prescription paperwork, and maintain clear communication with patients and prescribers.
• Oversee inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date monitoring.
• Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction protocols.
• Cross-train across different pharmacy functions to support departmental operations as needed.
• Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, organize priorities, and manage time efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
