A pharmacy technician role is available on a contract basis for 13 weeks with possible extension or transition to hire. This position operates within an office setting, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, located in Clearwater, FL, with a start date approximately two weeks following the job offer.

Responsibilities include processing and filling prescriptions efficiently while managing insurance claims and resolving any adjudication issues. Candidates will prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification, perform data entry and paperwork management, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers. Maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts, restocking, and checking expiration dates is crucial, as is assisting with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction procedures. Cross-training in various pharmacy functions and supporting departmental needs ensure operational success. Compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and insurance regulations is mandatory.

Qualifications and experience requirements:

  • Registered pharmacy technician in the State of Florida
  • National certification (PTCB, NHA, or ExCPT accepted)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent pharmacy technician experience in retail, closed-door, mail order, or long-term care settings
  • Highest education level clearly stated on resume (HS, GED, Bachelor’s, etc.)
  • Local candidates only
