Contribute your expertise in specialty pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician supporting patients with rare and orphan diseases. This role focuses on navigating complex benefit, coverage, and prior authorization processes to help patients access crucial, often costly medications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage benefit verification, coverage analysis, and prior authorization for specialty drugs.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between providers and patients, delivering high-touch support throughout the medication approval and dispensing process.
- Assist with patient access programs including payment assistance, grants, and rebates.
- Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system to process specialty pharmacy prescriptions accurately.
- Maintain compliance with specialty pharmacy standards and protocols.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Arizona pharmacy technician license and current national certification in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience specifically within a designated specialty pharmacy or specialty PBM setting; retail-only pharmacy technician experience is not sufficient.
- Familiarity with rare/orphan drug patient populations and navigating insurance complexities.
- Strong clinical knowledge paired with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and provide personalized patient and provider support.
Schedule & Location:
- Monday through Friday, daytime shifts
- Location: New York, NY
- Contract duration: Approximately 13 weeks with potential to transition to a direct hire role.
