This direct hire opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician position located in Newark, New Jersey, supporting a fast-growing closed-door pharmacy specializing in a first-in-class therapy, UPNEEQ®. The role requires managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, assisting patients with their orders, and supporting pharmacy operations with precise prescription preparation and data entry.
Location: Newark, NJ
Schedule: Variable days and mid shifts, operating hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM; includes 2 closing shifts per week
Average Script Volume: Approximately 900 prescriptions per day
Pharmacy Software: Prime Rx
Responsibilities:
- Handle a high volume of patient and healthcare provider calls efficiently and professionally
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing patient and physician inquiries
- Accurately enter prescription data and maintain detailed patient, physician, and prescription records
- Identify and report adverse events in compliance with standard operating procedures
- Support the pharmacy team with various operational tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Active and clear Pharmacy Technician license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a mail order or closed-door pharmacy environment (retail experience is acceptable)
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to stability in employment; candidates with a history of multiple recent job changes are not preferred
