Pharmacy Technician in Newport, OR

This opportunity involves providing outpatient pharmacy support in a community pharmacy setting adjacent to a hospital. The primary responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions, assisting with medication management services, and supporting immunization and discharge medication processes. The pharmacy team utilizes the EPIC EMR system for managing patient information and prescriptions.

Location: Newport, OR
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days with rotating weekends
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense community patient prescriptions in an outpatient pharmacy setting
• Assist pharmacists in medication management services and immunizations
• Support discharge medication preparation and bedside delivery
• Utilize EPIC Willow Ambulatory EMR for prescription and patient record management
• Collaborate effectively with pharmacy staff to ensure high-quality patient care

Qualifications & Desired Experience

• Current, unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License required
• Outpatient or retail pharmacy experience preferred (e.g., Rite Aid, Walgreens, or similar settings)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• EPIC Willow Ambulatory experience required
• Sterile compounding skills are a plus
• Completion of a Medical Pharmacy Technician course preferred
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
