Pharmacy Technician - Newton, Kansas

A healthcare facility in Newton, KS, is seeking an experienced inpatient pharmacy technician for a 13-week contract position. This role supports the pharmacy team by preparing medications, including sterile IV admixtures, and assisting with pharmaceutical services to ensure optimal patient care. Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (1st shift)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications and provide drug information to healthcare personnel.
• Prepare sterile IV admixtures with accuracy and attention to safety standards.
• Receive, store, and manage incoming medication and supply deliveries efficiently.
• Process prescriptions and medication orders, ensuring correct preparation and labeling.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active and clear Pharmacy Technician license valid in Kansas.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in IV compounding.
• Experience with Meditech software preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of sterile compounding procedures is beneficial, as the role involves some sterile medication preparation.
