A certified Pharmacy Technician position is available for a direct hire opportunity requiring travel throughout Maryland and Virginia. This role involves acting as a liaison between the pharmacy and various healthcare facilities within an assigned territory. The ideal candidate will foster strong relationships with facility leadership and staff to enhance medication therapy services and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Location: Travel throughout Maryland and Virginia, including cities such as Alexandria, Woodbridge, Fairfax, Richmond, Hampton, Newport News, and more.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Primarily 8:00am to 4:00pm shifts
- Occasional later hours for audits requiring flexibility
- Rare weekend work
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at healthcare facilities
- Serve as primary contact for assigned accounts, addressing client needs and concerns
- Support medication therapy and compliance in collaboration with clinical and pharmacy directors
- Conduct training sessions on facility and pharmacy systems for staff
- Perform monthly onsite visits and generate reports for ongoing quality improvement
- Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with internal pharmacy teams for seamless client service coordination
- Assist with survey preparation, medication room inspections, and medication pass observations as requested
Qualifications:
- Valid Pharmacy Technician licenses for Virginia and Maryland required
- PTCB certification highly preferred
- Experience in long-term care settings advantageous
- Familiarity with pharmacy and medication distribution software (EMAR, Medbank, Frameworks preferred)
- Reliable transportation for travel to various facilities; overnight stays may be necessary
