This opportunity is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician with inpatient, acute care experience seeking a challenging role in a dynamic hospital environment in the Los Angeles area. The position involves supporting pharmacy operations in a 117-licensed bed hospital with an average daily census of 44 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform IV compounding with strict adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Accurately fill Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
  • Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry system efficiently
  • Collaborate with a pharmacy team consisting of 3 pharmacists and 3 technician FTEs
  • Adapt to varying shifts to provide 40 hours of coverage per week, including weekend shifts from 0800-1630
  • Maintain compliance with dress code by wearing scrubs on site

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license
  • Proven experience in inpatient and acute care pharmacy settings
  • Competency in IV admixture and compounding procedures
  • Hands-on experience with Pyxis automation systems
  • Familiarity with Paragon or Allscripts order entry systems is essential
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to meet critical patient medication needs

Schedule:

  • Shifts vary between 0730-2030 with weekend coverage required
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week

Contract Duration:

  • 8 to 13 weeks with potential for extension
