Pharmacy Technician in Norwalk, CA

A new opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician with experience in inpatient acute care settings. This position supports an acute care hospital environment with licensed beds and provides essential pharmacy services within a dynamic team.

Location: Norwalk, CA (Los Angeles area)
Job Type: Contract (8 - 13 weeks +)
Schedule:

• Varying shifts between 07:30 AM and 08:30 PM
• Approximately 40 hours per week
• Weekend coverage required, with varying hours between 08:00 AM and 04:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform IV compounding with precision and adherence to safety standards
• Accurately fill and manage inventory in the Pyxis automated dispensing system
• Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems effectively
• Support the pharmacy team in delivering timely medication distribution for an inpatient census averaging 44 patients
• Maintain professional appearance consistent with the dress code requiring scrubs

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Previous inpatient acute care pharmacy technician experience required
• Proficiency in IV compounding techniques
• Experience with Pyxis automation systems and filling procedures
• Familiarity with hospital order entry systems such as Paragon or Allscripts
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends

Team Environment:

• Work alongside 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 full-time pharmacy technicians
• Contribute to a collaborative and patient-focused pharmacy department
