Pharmacy Technician - Norwalk, CA

This pharmacy technician role is based in Norwalk, CA, offering a valuable opportunity to support an inpatient acute care facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The position is available on a contract basis, extending from 8 to 13+ weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on need.

The facility is experiencing a significant shortage of pharmacy technicians and is now open to travelers, providing flexibility for relocation. Shifts vary between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM, totaling approximately 40 hours per week, including weekend coverage from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Scrubs are the required dress code, and you will work within a progressive team of 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform IV compounding with precision and adherence to safety standards.
• Accurately fill Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
• Manage inpatient acute care pharmacy operations.
• Utilize order entry systems such as Paragon and Allscripts effectively.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.
