An acute care facility located in Norwalk, CA, is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician for a contract assignment lasting 8 to 13 weeks, with potential for extension. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment that is currently experiencing high demand for skilled technicians, including travelers.

Work Schedule:

  • Varying shifts between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM
  • Weekend coverage is required, typically 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Approximately 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compounding intravenous (IV) medications accurately and safely
  • Filling Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
  • Supporting inpatient pharmacy operations in an acute care setting

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Pharmacy Technician certification required
  • Experience working in inpatient, acute care pharmacy departments
  • Proficiency with IV compounding techniques
  • Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing systems
  • Experience using Paragon or Allscripts order entry systems preferred

Facility Details:

  • Licensed for 117 beds with an average daily census of 44 patients
  • Pharmacy team includes 3 full-time pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians
  • Professional dress code requiring scrubs
