Pharmacy Technician - Norwalk, CA

This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support two hospital sites in the Los Angeles area. The role requires flexibility to float between two nearby hospitals, approximately 20 miles apart, providing vital pharmacy services in a dynamic inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense IV medications, including IVPBs and TPNs.
• Fill and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets efficiently.
• Answer telephones and deliver medications to nursing units promptly.
• Utilize order entry systems such as Allscripts and Paragon for medication management.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and procedural standards in medication preparation and distribution.

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience.
• Strong proficiency in making IVs and filling Pyxis cabinets is mandatory.
• Familiarity with hospital-based order entry systems, preferably Allscripts and Paragon.
• Ability to adapt to variable day and afternoon work schedules.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to support multiple hospital units effectively.

Location: This position covers two hospitals located in the Los Angeles area — Gardena Memorial in Gardena and Coast Plaza Hospital in Norwalk.

Additional Details:

• Contract duration is a minimum of 8 weeks.
• Schedule involves variable day and afternoon shifts, requiring flexibility and ability to travel between sites.
