A professional Pharmacy Technician role is available for a travel assignment covering two hospital locations in the Los Angeles area. This opportunity involves floating between two hospitals approximately 20 miles apart, providing essential pharmacy services to inpatient units.

Location:

• Norwalk and Gardena, CA (two hospital sites)

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable day and afternoon shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately fill Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Prepare intravenous (IV) medications, including IV piggybacks (IVPBs) and total parenteral nutrition (TPNs)
• Deliver medications to nursing units promptly
• Answer pharmacy-related telephone inquiries
• Perform order entry using Allscripts/Paragon systems
• Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical staff to ensure accurate medication distribution and patient safety

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proven inpatient pharmacy technician experience is required
• Demonstrated ability to compound IV medications, including IVPBs and TPNs
• Skilled in filling and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
• Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon order entry system is preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills

This contract position is ideal for a pharmacy technician with a solid background in hospital inpatient pharmacy and IV preparation, who can efficiently work across multiple sites with variable schedules. The duration of the assignment is eight weeks or longer, with flexibility to accommodate day and afternoon shifts.
