A pharmacy technician role is available for a short-term contract to support a high-volume production project in the Bay Area. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely prescription fulfillment under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
Location:
- Bay Area, Oakland, CA
Schedule:
- Four days per week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Six evenings per week, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Fill prescriptions and prepackage medications according to established standards and government regulations
- Assist pharmacists with final verification of filled prescriptions, including preparing and packaging medications for dispensing
- Coordinate accurate and timely delivery of medications to customers
- Support pharmacy management with inventory control, including receiving, rotating stock, and tracking lot numbers and expiration dates
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring equipment calibration and safety standards are met
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current, valid Pharmacy Technician license (ME license in-hand)
- Experience working under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist
- Knowledge of long-term care pharmacy procedures and regulations
- Ability to adhere to strict safety and quality standards
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Additional Information:
- This is a contract position, running from ASAP through 5/31
- This role does not involve IV preparation; focus is on prescription fulfillment
- Multiple shifts are available to accommodate different scheduling needs
