This opportunity is for experienced Pharmacy Technicians interested in a per diem registry role at a large, Level I trauma county hospital. The position offers the chance to support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Candidates should be available to work approximately 3 to 4 days per week, averaging around 24 hours weekly, with some weeks requiring 40+ hours due to high volume. Shifts are 8.5 hours in length with a 30-minute lunch break, available starting at 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, and 3 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Assist pharmacists in managing medication inventory and verifying prescriptions
- Utilize pharmacy technology systems such as EPIC and Omnicell for medication order processing and documentation
- Support IV medication preparation and compounding as needed
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital environment, preferably with exposure to IV preparations
- Familiarity with EPIC and Omnicell pharmacy systems
- Ability to work independently and adapt to a busy, high-acuity trauma center
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Flexibility to work varied shifts throughout the day
