This position offers an opportunity to provide critical pharmacy support in a dynamic, fast-paced County hospital setting recognized as a Level I trauma center. The role serves both inpatient and outpatient areas, requiring adaptability and expertise in hospital pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient departments.
- Support IV medication preparation and compounding as required.
- Utilize EPIC and Omnicell systems to manage medication orders and inventory.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician with valid certification.
- Prior experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred, especially with IV preparation.
- Familiarity with EPIC and Omnicell technology is highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Availability to work flexible shifts starting at 6 am, 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, or 3 pm, with 8.5-hour shifts including a 30-minute lunch.
Schedule:
- Per diem registry role with an average of 24 hours per week.
- Candidates ideally available 3 to 4 days per week.
- Weekly hours may vary, with busy periods requiring up to 40+ hours.
- Long-term, open-ended assignment with the opportunity for continuous work.
