Pharmacy Technician in Onalaska, WI

This hospital inpatient role in Richland Center, WI is ideal for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with experience in a fast-paced hospital setting. The position is a 13-week contract assignment, starting ASAP, requiring a dedication to detail and patient safety.

Responsibilities include:

• Restocking Pyxis machines and medication supplies
• Conducting outdate checks on medications
• Preparing intravenous (IV) medications and sterile products
• Ordering and receiving drug shipments
• Monitoring medication storage temperatures
• Preparing chemotherapy medications
• Performing daily cleaning and maintenance of the cleanroom
• Entering patient charges accurately
• Assisting with other pharmacy duties as assigned

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday shifts, either 8 or 10 hours (7am-7pm)
• Weekend shifts rotating every 4th weekend, 7am-3pm

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain one quickly
• Approximately 2 years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience
• Knowledge of sterile compounding and chemo preparation preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
