Support patient care in a behavioral health setting by stepping into a Pharmacy Technician role that emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork. This per diem position requires licensed Illinois Pharmacy Technicians ready to contribute in a dynamic environment serving an average daily census of 145 patients and processing 300-400 prescriptions per day.

Location:

  • Based in Palatine, IL with assignment at a behavioral hospital site nearby

Schedule:

  • Approximately 2-3 shifts per week through July
  • Shifts typically run from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional extended hours
  • Weekend shifts may also be required during the same time frame

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fill and deliver medications promptly and accurately to various units within the hospital
  • Utilize the HCS Order Entry System and Omnicell automation for medication management (training provided)
  • Complete 2-3 days of mandatory training/orientation prior to starting
  • Maintain compliance with facility dress code and professional appearance guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory
  • Ability to walk up to 10,000 steps per day to ensure timely medication delivery
  • Comfortable with using order entry and automation systems (training provided)
  • Local candidates preferred for ease of attendance and flexibility

Dress Code and Appearance Standards:

  • Scrubs in black or gray or business casual attire without rips, stains, or tears
  • Closed-toed shoes required
  • Natural hair colors only; bright or unnatural colors not permitted
  • No hats unless for religious or medical reasons
  • Avoid jeans, spaghetti straps, and hoop earrings; face piercings allowed
  • Maintain short fingernails for safety and hygiene
