An established pharmacy is seeking an experienced retail and mail order pharmacy technician to fill a backfill position starting immediately. This contract role, with the potential to convert to permanent, is ideal for candidates with recent high-volume retail pharmacy experience who thrive in fast-paced environments.

This position requires working Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, supporting both walk-in retail customers and primarily mail order medication delivery. The technician must demonstrate strong attention to detail, especially when handling high-volume data entry and dispensing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications for retail and mail order patients
  • Efficiently manage high-volume data entry with precision and speed
  • Maintain professionalism while standing throughout entire shifts
  • Exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills to support pharmacy operations
  • Proactively identify pharmacy needs and contribute to workflow improvements

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Recent experience (within the last year) working in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting is required
  • Experience dispensing HIV/AIDS medications is highly preferred; please indicate this clearly on your resume
  • Valid Arizona Pharmacy Technician License or PTCB certification is mandatory
  • Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software is highly preferred but not required
  • Dependable with excellent punctuality and a positive, cooperative attitude

This contract engagement will last 13 weeks initially, with the possibility to convert to a full-time permanent role if performance and fit are aligned. Candidates must be prepared for a physically demanding role that involves standing for the duration of each shift.
