Pharmacy Technician in Portland, ME

A pharmacy technician role is available for a 13-week contract opportunity in Portland, ME. This position supports the pharmacy team by preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining medication inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Registered Pharmacist by accurately filling prescriptions and prepackaging medications for dispensing in accordance with standards and government regulations.
• Support final prescription checks by preparing medications for pharmacist review and ensuring proper packaging after final verification.
• Coordinate accurate and timely delivery of medications to customers.
• Help maintain inventory through receiving shipments, rotating stock, tracking lot numbers, expiration dates, and contributing to physical inventory counts.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace; assist with equipment checks for calibration, safety, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with the technician supervisor to uphold workplace standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maine Pharmacy Technician license in hand.
• Proven ability to work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with pharmacy inventory management and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work rotating weekend shifts as part of the schedule.

Location: Portland, ME
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM; rotating weekends
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting ASAP
