Pharmacy Technician | Portsmouth, Virginia

An opportunity is available for an experienced IV/Infusion pharmacy technician to contribute to the growth of a home infusion service line within a large health system serving Virginia and North Carolina. This role is a contract-to-hire position based in Portsmouth, VA, with a 13-week initial term. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift, supporting continuity of care and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare IVs, TPNs, and other sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain quality assurance standards following departmental policies and legal regulations.
• Train new pharmacy technicians as needed to ensure team competence.
• Participate in clinical initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
• Perform other sterile compounding and pharmacy technician tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of strong IV/infusion pharmacy technician experience, including TPNs and antibiotics.
• Experience in inpatient IV settings is considered; however, home infusion experience is highly preferred.
• VA pharmacy technician licensure and national certification are required.
• Familiarity with the EPIC system is essential.
