Support pharmaceutical care in an inpatient hospital setting by serving as a skilled pharmacy technician under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This full-time, direct hire opportunity is located in Flemington, NJ, approximately one hour from Edison, Newark, and New York City.
In this role, you will provide essential technical assistance to the Department of Pharmaceutical Services by accurately labeling, preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications for diverse patient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your expertise will contribute to safe and effective medication management within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical products
- Ensure accurate labeling and distribution of medications
- Utilize Pyxis and Omnicell systems for medication management
- Participate in weekend rotations and variable afternoon shifts based on department needs
- Support sterile compounding activities, particularly intravenous (IV) preparation
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- NJ Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain promptly
- National certification from PTCB or NHA
- Minimum of 1+ year inpatient experience, including IV preparation
- IV / Sterile Compounding certification preferred
Schedule:
- Variable days with afternoon shifts
- Weekend rotation required
