This opportunity is for a Certified Pharmacy Technician with licenses in both Virginia and Maryland, eager to work in a travel-focused role supporting multiple healthcare facilities across these states. This position is ideal for a professional skilled in long-term care pharmacy services, serving as a key liaison between pharmacies and the facilities they visit. The role is a direct hire with a focus on enhancing medication management and compliance while fostering client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with facility leadership and staff within the assigned territory, including cities such as Alexandria, Woodbridge, Fairfax, Richmond, and others in Virginia and Maryland.
- Act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.
- Provide expert guidance on medication therapy and regulatory compliance alongside clinical and pharmacy operations directors.
- Address client questions and challenges promptly to maintain exceptional service standards.
- Identify and support opportunities to expand service offerings and introduce new pharmacy products.
- Deliver training sessions for facility staff on medication administration systems and related procedures.
- Conduct monthly onsite visits, prepare reports, and assist with survey preparation.
- Perform medication cart and medication room inspections as well as medication pass observations as requested.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pharmacy Technician licenses in Virginia and Maryland.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings.
- Proficiency with pharmacy and medication distribution software such as EMAR, Medbank, or Frameworks.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region, including overnight stays if necessary.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, typically 8:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional later audits requiring flexibility.
- Rare weekend work required.
