Pharmacy Technician in Richmond, VA

An opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with specialized experience in IV/Infusion to support the growth of a home infusion service line within a well-established healthcare system operating multiple hospitals and home infusion sites. This role offers a contract-to-hire assignment, providing a pathway to a permanent position.

Location: Richmond, VA

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Day shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare IV solutions, TPNs, and other sterile compounded medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring adherence to all quality assurance standards and legal requirements
• Participate in clinical initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and safety
• Provide training and guidance for new pharmacy technician staff as needed
• Perform additional sterile compounding and pharmacy technician duties based on organizational needs

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years in IV/Infusion pharmacy technician roles, preferably within a home infusion setting; inpatient IV experience will also be considered
• Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and national certification are mandatory
• Familiarity with EPIC pharmacy systems is required
• Strong understanding of sterile compounding procedures and regulatory compliance
