A retail-focused Pharmacy Technician opportunity is available for a skilled professional ready to contribute to a growing pharmacy team. This role offers approximately 32 hours per week with a goal of transitioning into permanent employment, bringing the benefit of full medical, dental, and vision coverage once hired full-time. Strong team collaboration and a customer-oriented approach are essential for success.

Location

  • Riverside, MO (at a pharmacy near Broadway in Kansas City)

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating shifts between 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service through direct patient interaction and phone support, addressing questions and resolving medication and insurance concerns
  • Process prescription orders efficiently and accurately, including data entry, insurance billing, and labeling in a high-volume environment (approximately 150 prescriptions per day)
  • Participate in non-sterile compounding activities with training provided, adhering to safety and formula standards
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions, ensuring timely and accurate medication dispensing
  • Manage inventory by stocking medications and maintaining organized pharmacy supplies

Qualifications

  • Active Missouri Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy technician experience; candidates with closed-door or hospital-only experience are not suitable due to high patient interaction and foot traffic demands
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is advantageous but not required
  • Positive attitude, determined approach, and ability to work well as part of a team
