This pharmacy technician position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced mail order pharmacy setting located in Clearwater, FL. As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will process and fill prescriptions while managing inventory and handling insurance claims with precision and care. This 13-week contract role provides Monday through Friday daytime hours, allowing you to maintain a well-balanced schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions accurately, including insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections
  • Prepare, package, and label medications to ensure pharmacist verification and patient safety
  • Perform detailed data entry and manage prescription paperwork efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, and internal teams to support smooth pharmacy operations
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction following compliance standards
  • Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and contribute to department needs proactively
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • PTCB certification and active Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus
  • Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
