Pharmacy Technician in Riverview, FL

Join as a Pharmacy Technician in a fast-paced pharmacy environment supporting prescription processing and medication management on a contract basis. This role is based in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, for a 13-week assignment starting ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification to ensure safety and compliance.
• Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers effectively.
• Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking medications, and reviewing expiration dates.
• Assist with medication returns, quarantine procedures, and destruction processes as needed.
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions to provide flexible department support.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PTCB certification and valid Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years’ pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
• Strong multitasking ability, organizational skills, and time management.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
