This position is a 13-week temporary contract role based in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The start date is ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance.
This role requires expertise in processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory, handling insurance claims, and assisting with the packing and shipping of medications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve rejections efficiently.
- Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification.
- Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and maintain communication with patients and prescribers.
- Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews.
- Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures.
- Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and provide departmental support as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- PTCB certification and valid Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years’ pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills with patients, healthcare providers, and internal teams.
