Pharmacy Technician - Riverview, Florida

This opportunity is ideal for a Certified Pharmacy Technician seeking a 13-week contract position with potential for extension or conversion to temp-to-hire. The role is based in an office setting, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, located in Roanoke, VA, with a start date approximately two weeks after offer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve any rejections
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification
• Enter data, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers
• Maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews
• Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures
• Cross-train in various pharmacy functions and provide support for departmental needs
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations

Required Qualifications:

• Educational background clearly indicated on resume (HS diploma, GED, Bachelor’s, etc.)
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license in Virginia and national certification (PTCB, NHA, or EXCPT)
• Minimum of 2 years recent pharmacy technician experience in retail, closed-door, mail order, or long-term care settings (hospital experience not required)
