A pharmacy technician position is available in Rockford, IL, offering a temp-to-hire opportunity in a long-term care (LTC) mail order environment. The role primarily supports Pharmacy Service Representative (PSR) and billing functions, working closely with insurance verification, nursing staff, pharmacists, and patients to ensure optimal medication coverage.

Location: Rockford, IL
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Rotating Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle PSR duties including billing and insurance verification
• Communicate effectively with nurses, pharmacists, and patients
• Assist patients in securing the best possible medication coverage
• Perform data entry accurately and efficiently using QS1 pharmacy system

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois pharmacy technician license
• National Certification as a pharmacy technician
• Proven pharmacy technician experience, specifically in billing
• Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate in a healthcare team environment
