Pharmacy Technician - Rockford, Illinois

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to contribute to patient care within a Long-Term Care (LTC) Mail Order pharmacy environment. The role combines patient service, billing, insurance verification, and communication with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal medication coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Patient Service Representative (PSR) duties including billing and insurance verification
• Collaborate effectively with nurses and pharmacists to address patient needs
• Engage with patients to secure the best medication coverage options
• Utilize the QS1 computer system for data entry and daily pharmacy operations
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with pharmacy agreements

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Rotating Saturdays, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Pharmacy Technician license
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification
• Demonstrated pharmacy technician experience, preferably with PSR and billing responsibilities
• Proficient data entry skills
• Strong communication abilities for effective interaction with patients and healthcare staff
