Join a specialty pharmacy team dedicated to improving patient access and affordability of specialty medications in Rockville, MD. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a certified pharmacy technician with outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy experience, ready to advance their career in a dynamic, start-up environment supporting specialty care clinics.

Location: Rockville, MD
Schedule: Monday – Friday, hours TBD
Employment Type: Direct Hire (non-contract)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete prior authorizations and assist with medication benefit investigations
  • Source financial assistance programs to support patient affordability
  • Process pharmacy claims efficiently and accurately
  • Coordinate medication dispensing and shipping logistics
  • Provide excellent patient support by answering questions and addressing requests
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and pharmacists to ensure care continuity
  • Assist with billing and perform administrative support tasks as needed

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with MD licensure and national certification required
  • Prior experience in outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy; infusion experience is a plus
  • Comfort engaging with patients, providers, and care teams in person and remotely
  • Knowledge of specialty medication benefits, prior authorization protocols, and financial aid resources
  • Experience with pharmacy and EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner, Therigy, or similar platforms preferred
  • Familiarity with specialty medications used in autoimmune, endocrinology, oncology, or willingness to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to assist with provider appeals and collaboration
  • Ability to work independently and foster teamwork within a collaborative environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 10-15% to client sites as needed
