Pharmacy Technician - Round Rock, TX

An established healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician for an overnight shift to support their inpatient IV pharmacy operations. This 13-week contract position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized pediatric hospital environment, providing critical pharmacy services during overnight hours.

Location: Round Rock, TX
Shift: Overnight, 7 days on / 7 days off | 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, starting March 9

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense sterile intravenous (IV) medications in compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
• Accurately compound and label pediatric IV admixtures, ensuring adherence to sterile compounding protocols
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare teams to ensure timely medication delivery and patient safety
• Utilize EPIC pharmacy systems for medication order processing and documentation
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and monitor medication usage

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT) license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• IV certification demonstrating competency in sterile product preparation is mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy technician experience in a hospital setting, preferably with pediatric background
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) certification preferred
• Preferred completion of 40 hours training in sterile compounding accredited by ACPE or ASHP
• Experience with EPIC pharmacy system required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight shifts
