A contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician in an outpatient pharmacy setting located in Saint Clairsville, OH. This position offers a 13-week assignment with day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, supporting pharmacy operations within an outpatient environment utilizing NextGen order entry systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.
- Maintain precise patient records, including medication profiles and histories.
- Prepare medications in various dosage forms such as pills and ointments according to prescriptions.
- Verify prescription details to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals concerning prescription orders and medication inquiries.
- Process medication orders in compliance with safety and regulatory protocols.
- Ensure pharmacy operations adhere to federal, state, and local laws.
- Perform administrative duties including billing, insurance claims processing, and managing patient files.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficient pharmacy functions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician; retail pharmacy background acceptable.
- Valid Ohio Pharmacy Technician license.
- Familiarity with outpatient pharmacy workflows and NextGen order entry is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
