Pharmacy Technician | Saint Clairsville, Ohio

A contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to support an outpatient pharmacy setting. This role involves day shifts, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, over a 13-week period. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and provide excellent customer service while maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately.
• Maintain and update patient medication profiles and medication histories.
• Prepare medications in proper dosage forms, including pills and ointments.
• Verify prescription information for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals regarding prescription orders and medication inquiries.
• Prepare and process medication orders following safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Perform administrative duties such as billing, insurance claims, and patient file management.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to support efficient pharmacy operations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Ohio Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician, with retail experience being acceptable.
• Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy procedures and NextGEn order entry system is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
