This temporary pharmacy technician role offers a focused 13-week contract with an immediate start upon clearance, ideal for candidates ready to contribute their expertise in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Location: Clearwater, FL
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process and fill prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and troubleshoot rejections to ensure timely medication delivery.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Manage prescription-related paperwork, perform data entry, and communicate effectively with patients and prescribers to deliver excellent service.
  • Conduct daily inventory management including cycle counts, restocking, and expiration date reviews to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Assist with returns, medication quarantines, and destruction processes following established protocols.
  • Cross-train in various pharmacy functions to support team flexibility and departmental needs.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations to uphold patient confidentiality and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail paired with excellent multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy teams.
