This position offers a 13-week temporary contract opportunity as a Pharmacy Technician in Clearwater, FL, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The start date is ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after clearance.

The role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations by processing and filling prescriptions, managing inventory, and assisting with medication packaging and shipping. It demands a detail-oriented professional capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions, handle insurance adjudications, and resolve claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications accurately for pharmacist verification.
  • Perform data entry, manage prescription paperwork, and communicate with patients and prescribers.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, restocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support department needs.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and internal teams.
