Pharmacy Technician - Saint Petersburg, FL

This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced pharmacy technicians with a strong background in retail settings. The role focuses on supporting daily pharmacy operations through prescription processing, inventory management, insurance claim handling, and medication packaging and shipping.

Location: Clearwater, FL
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Type: Temp/Contract, 13-week duration
Start Date: ASAP or upon clearance (approximately 1.5-2 weeks post-offer)

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and fill prescriptions accurately while managing insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections
• Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification and patient distribution
• Perform detailed data entry and maintain prescription paperwork, effectively communicating with patients and healthcare providers
• Manage and maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and expiration monitoring
• Support medication returns, quarantines, and destruction processes as needed
• Cross-train in multiple pharmacy functions and assist with overall department support
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Valid PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a pharmacy technician role, with a strong preference for retail pharmacy experience
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications and technical systems, including making phone calls to support communication efforts
• Excellent multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage professionally with patients, providers, and team members
