A 13-week pharmacy technician contract opportunity is available in Clearwater, FL, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. This role provides the chance to contribute to the accurate processing and fulfillment of prescriptions within a dynamic pharmacy setting. The position requires a keen eye for detail, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process prescriptions promptly and accurately, managing insurance adjudications and resolving claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform accurate data entry, manage prescription documentation, and serve as a communication liaison with patients and prescribers.
  • Conduct daily inventory management including cycle counts, restocking, and reviewing medication expirations.
  • Assist with medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures.
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions to support departmental needs.
  • Adhere strictly to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and insurance guidelines to maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • PTCB certification and active Florida pharmacy technician license are mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience; call center experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, organize workloads effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.

Location: Clearwater, Florida
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Start Date: ASAP or approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks post-clearance
