Deliver efficient and accurate pharmacy technician services in a dynamic mail order pharmacy setting focused on at-home chronic care management. This contract role offers an opportunity to apply your skills in prescription processing and patient support within a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Location: Salem, VA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret sig codes, select products, and process prescription refills with precision
- Conduct data entry, insurance verification, and resolve rejections to ensure seamless processing
- Prepare, label, and package medications in compliance with pharmacy and regulatory standards for pharmacist approval
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and manage medication returns effectively
- Handle inbound and outbound patient calls and prescriber requests professionally, maintaining confidentiality
- Adhere to HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and organizational protocols to protect patient information and comply with regulations
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a mail order or retail setting
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license and current PTCB certification
- Strong communication skills, excellent multitasking abilities, and effective time management
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to insurance adjudication and NDC changes
