This role offers an opportunity to work as a Pharmacy Technician in a long-term care setting, supporting medication management and pharmacy operations. The position is based in San Antonio, TX, and is a contract assignment starting March 2, 2026, with shift hours from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM. A valid Texas pharmacy technician license is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications by accurately reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling for pharmacist dispensing.
  • Dispense medications, process insurance claims, maintain patient profiles, and file prescriptions efficiently.
  • Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, performing order entry, rotating stock, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Support daily pharmacy workflow, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and team members to assist with medication inquiries and education.
  • Ensure compliance with quality checklists, safety standards, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Operate dispensing machines or robotics and assist with IV room operations or compounding as applicable.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Experience working in long-term care pharmacy preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems, insurance processing, and medication dispensing protocols.
  • Ability to work the designated afternoon/evening shift.
