This position focuses on supporting a Long Term Care Pharmacy in San Antonio, Texas, as a Pharmacy Technician. The role requires a valid Texas Pharmacy Technician License and offers an afternoon shift from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, starting March 2, 2026. This contract opportunity is ideal for candidates experienced in medication preparation and pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medications by reading prescriptions, calculating dosages, measuring, mixing, counting, and labeling in support of pharmacists.
  • Dispense medications while managing documentation such as processing insurance claims, maintaining patient profiles, and filing prescriptions accurately.
  • Manage inventory through stock tracking, order entry, stock rotation, and supply ordering to maintain seamless pharmacy operations.
  • Support daily workflow, including performing opening and closing procedures, to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, and internal teams to assist with medication awareness and address inquiries.
  • Maintain compliance with quality checklists and safety standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Operate dispensing machines or robotics and assist with IV room activities and compounding tasks as required.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Texas Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Experience in medication preparation and dispensing in a pharmacy setting.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to manage inventory and support workflow efficiently.
  • Familiarity with specialized pharmacy tasks, such as compounding and robotics, is a plus.
